WE LEARNED SOMETHING

The inaugural Dog Smarts Seminar was geared toward teaching pet owners who bring their dogs to The Watering Bowl a few helpful things about their dogs and their relationships. Based on the commitment our customers show to their dogs, we fully expected to have a strong turnout and a great time.

We heard from the volunteer coordinator at the Animal Protective Association about the challenges and rewards of adopting a rescue dog.

Veterinarian, Dr. Ashley Apking of Millis Animal Hospital, spoke to us about health and wellness tips throughout a dog’s life.

And our very own Tracy Pritchard of Butt Sniffers Academy took us through some of the theory and benefits of training and exercise.

It was all very informative. And the crowd that joined us asked a lot of smart questions following each presentation.

But we have to say, it was the generosity of our customers and their donations to the APA that took us aback.

Our free educational event managed to raise well over $1,000 for a great organization, and there’s no way we could’ve done that without the support of our Cage-Free Canine Community of humans.

Special thanks go out to all of the donors who submitted items for our raffle, including:

  • Purina
  • Panera
  • Kristi foster photography
  • Dk effects photography
  • Salt and smoke
  • Franco
  • Longhorn
  • Purina
  • Lola and Penelope’s
  • Four muddy paws
  • Melt
  • A walk in the park
  • Anna lenhaus
  • Kingsbury animal hospital
  • Roxane in Clayton
  • Mad tomato
  • Etta Says

It was a great chance for us to meet and talk with those whose dogs we know so well. And we look forward to an even more successful event next year with more speakers and another chance to help out the APA.

In the meantime, take a look at some of the highlights from this year’s event in the video below.
