Training at TWB

Butt Sniffers Academy

A four-legged institute of higher learning

Our mission is to blend consistent guidance and healthy socialization to foster a well-rounded life for both dogs and their owners. It’s all about getting to know each other.

The certified trainers at each of The Watering Bowl locations utilize the Least Intrusive Minimally Aversive (LIMA) approach to working with their students.

Meet our Certified Trainers

Laura has been training dogs and people for over 10 years and uses several modalities, tailored to each unique pet-parent relationship. She believes that building on existing strengths is key to good behavior and a happier dog. In other words, it’s all about engagement and building a strong foundation that can enhance the rest of your training goals and family life.
Tyler understands, “dog training is a lifestyle, not an event.” It’s a commitment between dog and owner to communicate and interact in a certain way.

Molly has been with The Watering Bowl for four years. She always knew she wanted to train dogs, but first she needed to get trained herself. So, she took it upon herself to follow her passion, become certified and join our team. “I like that a lot of the dogs we train also come for daycare, and I can get to know their personalities a lot more.”

“We have done both agility 1 & 2 classes with Laura at The Watering Bowl. We had a great time and learned a lot! Laura is very creative, knowledgeable and has amazing patience no matter how many legs you have! If you have a question, she takes the time to help you find the answer that works for you. The classes were a sanity saver as this past winter kept us so housebound. We are looking forward to taking the intermediate obedience class soon.”
