Unconfirmed research has shown that a single can of Uncaged Ale being opened is able to be heard by an adoptable dog up to 240 miles away.

That’s a long distance. And while dogs are known for strong hearing, these cans aren’t specially engineered. They’re just specially intended.

Proceeds from the sale of these do-gooders go toward helping the APA of Missouri in their mission to bring people and pets together. And that mission stretches way out into rural Missouri, where dogs in need of rescue may not otherwise have access to support from places like the APA.

**Update** We’re excited to share that cans are now available at these neighborhood retail locations:

  • – Dierbergs Deer Creek
  • – Dierbergs Cottleville
  • – Fields Foods
  • – Schnucks Loughborough
  • – Schnucks Arsenal
  • – Schnucks Hampton Village
  • – Randall’s on Jefferson
  • – Lukas Liquor

**Now back to our regular blog**

If you’ve never heard of the APA Pet Transfer Program, it’s pretty impressive.

Because the APA operation in St. Louis has a larger pool of adopters as well as more expansive resources, they reach out to overcrowded shelters and bring pets into the city. In 2018, that program alone placed over 2,000 animals.

And in 2017, one very special dog came to our own Jeremy King. Jeremy grew up in Cuba, MO, where the APA has maintained a positive presence for many years. And he found his puppy, Aspen (formerly Lilly) thanks to the APA Transfer Program.

So, needless to say, when the opportunity to partner with Schlafly to benefit the APA arose, there was no hesitation.

First appearing on tap back in October, the cans were officially released on April 28th.

Sold in packs of four, there are six distinct logos for the beer, featuring different dogs, to highlight the wide impact made by the APA for all kinds of dogs.

So, pick up your pack at your favorite retailer or either Schlafly location. And if you’re so inclined, take them on float trip in rural Missouri or give them a temporary home in your fridge to support forever homes for dogs.

And if you like this whole idea, we also have shirts available at TWB for $20. All proceeds go directly to the APA.

Hi, I was wondering if the uncaged ale shirts are still available in the stores or was this just a limited time thing?

      Hey Shelley,
We do still have Uncaged Ale shirts available at our Dog Grove location. Feel free to stop by anytime. All of our services are curbside right now, but we can collect payment and bring the shirts right to your car. Thanks!
