Hangover Contest, The Sequel, Winners

Seldom does the second edition live up to the original. But that’s exactly what happened in our second annual TWB Hangover Contest.

This year’s online photo competition garnered 6,500 votes across 149 submissions. That all adds up to a ton of fun. And it tells us that dogs and people are still enjoying the hangover effect they’ve come to know and love from visiting The Watering Bowl.

That, and pictures of passed out pooches never get old.

So, without further ado, let’s get a good look at the winners from The Watering Bowl Hangover Contest 2014.

With the most votes from our Hanley location, Fergus takes the crown with 464 votes.

And with the most votes from both locations—drum roll please—Iris wins this year’s contest at our South County location with—one more drum roll while you’re at it—739 final round votes. Seven hundred and ninety three!

Congratulations on breaking the single-hangover vote record.

And for the first time this year we allowed our staff to get in on the action. For Hanley, our staff chose the infectious hangover pose of Lilly the yorkie. Her hangover was called both “genuine“ and “couchtastic.”

And the staff from South County opted for the wrinkly, tongue-filled hangover displayed by Lola the bulldog.

When bulldogs get a hangover, they can’t hide it.

All winners receive a five-pack of hangovers (also known as days of daycare) with the staff picks landing 3 free days, and all finalists received a TWB t-shirt to pass out on as they see fit.

Feel free to check out the entire field of finalists over on our Facebook page.

And know that all of us at TWB are looking forward to next year’s contest. It’s never too early to prepare for a good hangover from The Watering Bowl Doggy Daycare and Boarding. So start saving your pictures now!
