Schedule Your Sniff Around
If you’ve never visited The Watering Bowl, we’d like to officially welcome you—and your pup—to our cage-free community. Every new dog begins with a simple, 45-minute temperament evaluation we call a Sniff Around.
This first visit helps us get to know your dog’s play style, comfort level, and social cues, ensuring they’re a great fit for our safe, supervised, cage-free dog daycare and boarding environment. It’s also your chance to see how we operate, meet our team, and feel just as comfortable as your pup while they’re here.
After the Sniff Around, your dog is welcome to stay and play for the rest of the day at no extra charge. If you plan to book dog boarding soon after your evaluation, we ask that your dog stays at least two hours following their initial Sniff Around. This extra time helps them settle into the environment and ensures a smooth, stress-free overnight stay.
New Dog Requirements
We love puppies—but for everyone’s safety, all dogs must be at least 12 weeks old, and any dog over 7 months must be spayed or neutered. Every new dog also completes a 45-minute Sniff Around, our temperament evaluation designed to ensure your pup is comfortable in our cage-free environment and ready to safely socialize with the pack. You can schedule your Sniff Around by giving us a call. To keep our community healthy, we require all dogs to be current on the following vaccinations:
DHLPP
Rabies
Bordetella (required annually, recommended every 6 months)
Negative Fecal Test
Recommended, but not required: Canine Influenza

Once your dog has completed their Sniff Around and met all requirements, they’re officially part of the pack—and ready for all the fun our cage-free community offers. Rates for each service can be found on their individual pages.
