The Parade Is Coming

Mardi Gras is coming to Soulard early this year. And that means the Beggin’ Pet Parade will, too.

Mark your calendar and join us:

Sunday, February 4, 2018

11:00 a.m.

12th and Allen

The parade takes off at 1:00 p.m., but registration begins at 10 a.m. The Watering Bowl crew will start gathering around noon. And we are hoping to bring as much of our cage-free canine community as we can to this event.

That’s why we’ve covered your entry fee into the parade. We want as many TWBers as we can get to join us. All proceeds go to Open Door Animal Sanctuary, so it’s charitable and, dare we say, fun.

The Beggin’ Pet Parade is one of those dates we look forward to all year. Aside from being one of the most fun walks you’ll take all year, it’s a chance for us to hang with the human end of the leash and get to know the people who bring their dogs to us.

And if you didn’t gather this already, it’s a pretty lax environment. Of course, dogs are welcome. We’ll have poop bags for dogs, shirts for humans and beads for everyone. We may even have a beer or three.

If you haven’t joined us before, welcome. If you have, we don’t need to tell you how much of a good time it is. Look for the blue dog mascot at the corner of 12th and Allen. And stick around afterward for some inevitable tail wagging.

Tell your friends. Tell your dog. Tell your dog’s friends and their owners. It’ll be a big outdoor party. And if it snows, don’t eat the yellow stuff.

So, get out of the house in early February for yet another chance to #DoMoreWithYourDog with your friends from The Watering Bowl.

And as the dogs say in the Big Easy, “Laissez les bons temps rouler.” That’s French Poodle for, “Let the good times roll.”
