The Watering Bowl opened its first location in an old firehouse.
It was perfect. Lots of room to run and play. Plus, the location was pre-approved by Dalmatians.
We were founded on the idea that dogs shouldn’t be cooped up in cages all day. Rather, they’re at their best when they’re free to run and roam and socialize with others.
But it takes more than a good idea.
From our inspiration, we set out to make it a reality.
After we found the location, we had to come up with a name. Then, a logo, permits, employees, a sign, parking, accounting—the whole shebang.
And it was all worth it.
We officially opened in February of 2010. With Jeremy King and Ryan Wolk, the founding partners, we set out on what has been an unbelievable journey.
As we continue to grow, we remain proud of how we began and remain true to our original idea of creating a cage-free canine community.
